Faery by Evie’s Closet is named after a friend of mine – Faery Sola who runs Studio Sidhe over on the Moonsong Sim. (*insert shameless plug*) She lives and breathes all things Faery, and is a constant source of support and fun! A fellow Aussie, she means a lot to me, and so here’s a very public tribute.

There is a Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Event at Ego going on right now. Oh. My. Goodness.

It took me almost 3 days to really look at all of the gorgeous entries submitted to the contest, (180 pictures in total) and to finally whittle it down to two Grand Prize Winners.

Entrants were asked to submit photographs featuring the Fable Gown from Evie’s Closet, and boy did they deliver.

In the Processed Category, Elysiana Eilde takes out the L$5,000 with her beautiful submission:

There were SO many gorgeous pictures, I feel quite honored to have been given the chance to peek into a little window of everyone’s imaginations. I really was almost overwhelmed with the task of choosing only two.

Accordingly, I’ve set up a special little gallery which includes not only the Grand Prize Winners, but some of my favorites I picked out, too.

Once upon a time, there was a non-gender specific avatar for the purpose of our story… (Boys and Girls are both welcome to enter!) …who liked wearing Evie’s Gowns and taking pictures in Second Life because…

….well, because it was fun.

So they toddled on down to the Evie’s Closet Main Store on Oubliette, and snagged themselves a copy of the lovely “Fable” Gown, which is on sale for the duration of this competiton.

It looked a little something like this, and it came in 5 different color choices.

They picked their favorite color and when they got home, they tried all the pieces on, mixing and matching and dancing around the house with glee. Finally, they had a look they loved, and they went out into the great wide world to take some pictures.

…a Chanteuse put down her drink, smiling at the man in the Pinstriped Suit. “Sure, sugar, I’ll sing you another song.. ” she crooned, as she shimmied back up to the stage.

.. and there was a sudden, brilliant flash of light as the heavy beating of wings broke the silence.. The Avariel lowered herself gently to the ground…

I was messing about with the new “Wrecked” Misty Skin from League, and I thought.. “Huh. How cool if I could make this dress all dark, and gothy.”

I was wearing Melusine at the time, and so after a few hours of fiddling around, I came up with two options. A “Blood” version of the Gown, as pictured below, and an “Obsidian” version, which is pure black.

I’ve got them both on display at the Main Store on some handy new mannequins I picked up. If you like them, you can get them both for the same price as one Gown for a limited time.

Which is pretty much until I need to take down the display for other newness, then they’ll be available separately.
