Melusine Gown by Evie’s Closet – Swansong Submission
*Raymond of Poitou stumbled upon the Water Fairy, Melusine, one night as he wandered through the woods. Enchanted by the Fairy’s beauty and grace, he fell in love with her and begged her to be his. She agreed, but only after extracting from him a promise that he would permit her one day, each week, of absolute privacy. Agreeing to her terms, they were married a few days, later.
So Melusine hid her true appearance from Raymond, and was only revealled as a woman from the waist up, with a scaled tail below, on the appointed day each week, locked away from her husband’s eyes.
Finally, one such day, undone by his curiosity, Raymond spied upon her, and discovered her secret. He was instantly consumed with regret and the fear that through his betrayal of her trust, he would lose his beloved wife.
Sure enough, when the Water Fairy caught sight of him watching her, she fled, brokenhearted and vanished, never to be seen again. Raymond of Poitou languished without her for the rest of his days.
The Melusine Gown from Evie’s Closet takes the tragic romance of old mythology, and brings it to life as wearable art.
Be the radiant Melusine, wrapped in the magic of her element – Water. It’s pearlescent beauty, runs sleek and ever changing across the bodice.
Lush layers upon layers flow down the back of the Gown in a majestic bustle. The vibrant color catches every eye.
Unlock mystery – The swirling depths of the full skirt hint at Melusine’s truth, exposing her irridescent scales as you move.
The Gown was absolutely a labor of love. I think a little bit of my heart travels around the grid with each one that finds a place with somebody. My thanks to those who’ve embraced it already.
You can fetch a copy from the Black Swan Sim, until August 17th.
PS: Special thanks *must* go to everyone who allowed me to obsess out loud for an entire month about this… And to Winter Jefferson & Rezzable for taking a chance on me. It’s been a really great experience. 🙂
